WILLIAMSVILLE – T.O.'s, the honey nut toasted oats cereal named for Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens are scoring with fans, according to Tops Friendly Markets.
The supermarket chain announced late Monday that sales of the cereal have surpassed 33,000 boxes.
“Sales of T.O.’s have been brisk and we are working hard to keep them on store shelves,” said Katie McKenna, Tops spokeswoman. “With the start of the Bills regular season and Terrell’s debut in a Bills uniform we anticipate the interest and demand for the cereal to stay strong.”
T.O.’s, which are available in-store only at Tops’ 76 locations, went on sale in late July. The cereal is a joint partnership between Tops, Owens and PLB Sports.
In addition, it was announced this week that 50 cases of T.O.’s would be donated to the Food Bank of Western New York.
Previous Bills stars Jim Kelly and Doug Flutie also had cereals named for them, Kelly Krunch and Flutie Flakes.
